Frequently Asked Questions
Care & Cleaning: Given the handmade nature of our pieces, we recommend professional cleaning or spot-cleaning to preserve the item’s color and materials, unless otherwise noted. A list of suggestions by item is outlined below. If you have any questions specifically about your item, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll be happy to assist.
- Ceramics: Wipe clean with damp towel and hand-dry. Do not leave soaking in water.
- Pillows & Throws: Pillows from Mexico, Turkey and Laos, as well as our indigo cotton throws, can be machine-washed on gentle cycle in cold water and laid flat to dry. All other pillows & wool blankets should be professionally cleaned.
- Rugs: Spot clean as needed. Soak up spills immediately with a dry cloth. Professionally clean as needed. Take care when vacuuming any rug with fringe - we recommend using a small hand vacuum. Cactus silk rugs can be washed in cold water and laid flat to dry.
Damaged Items: We take care when packaging your purchases, but sometimes they may arrive damaged. Should this occur, please send a photo of the damaged item to us at email@example.com and we will either replace the item or issue a refund. Given the limited quantities and one-of-a-kind items that we offer, we may not be able to replace the exact item.
Forgot Password: Forgot your password? Visit the Login/Register link at the top right of any page and click "Forgot Password", enter your email address and will receive an email instructing you to reset your password.
Gift Cards: We offer digital gift cards that will be emailed to you immediately after purchasing for quick and easy gift giving. You can either print the gift card or forward the email to the recipient. To use, simply enter the gift card number at check out. Gift cards do not expire. Promotional codes to not apply to the purchase of a gift card.
Gift Orders: If you are purchasing an item as a gift, please check the “gift” box at checkout. We will include a personal note if you provide one and a gift receipt, but we do not offer gift wrap. Should the recipient want to return the item, we are happy to offer a credit in the form of a gift card. Received a gift that’s not your style? No problem. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to initiate the return process, and we’ll issue a gift card for future use.
Handmade Items: Given the handmade processes with which most of our products are created, no two pieces are exactly the same. The item you receive may not be identical to the one shown on the product page. There may be small variations in sizes, dye lots or in a textile’s weave. We feel this enhances the product’s character and reminds us of the person and process behind the piece.
International Orders: We do not currently sell or ship internationally.
Order Status: You will receive a confirmation email with tracking number when your item ships. If you created an account when checking out, you can login to the website to check your order’s status. If you didn’t create an account, feel free to email us for an update.
Packaging: We are conscious of our environmental impact. Our packaging is recyclable, biodegradable and/or made from post-consumer recycled material. We sometimes reuse shipping and packaging materials in an effort to reduce waste. Please consider reusing or recycling.
Pre-orders: When purchasing an item as a pre-order, your credit card will be charged at the time of purchase. The product page will tell you the approximate lead time or ship date, and we'll keep you updated should anything change. Feel free to contact us for an update on your pre-order.
Sales Tax: We charge sales tax for items shipped to California. Tax applies to total purchase amount, including shipping fees.
